About Us
Who are we? What are we?
The BMUN is a student-led Model United Nations conference that happens yearly. The conference is organized by Beacon students and held at the Beacon School campus. The core values of this project are diplomacy, education, inspiration, and dedication. Students from schools all over São Paulo gather at the event to debate, improve themselves on a personal level, develop critical thinking skills, and create new bonds that will last forever.
Our History
Beacon Model United Nations has a short, but powerful history. Our simulation started out as one single committee, with three people responsible for the secretariat. Those three individuals had a dream to build something bigger than themselves and create a lasting effect on their community.
From a small classroom with 20 students, our simulation has grown every year, inviting students from all over the city and reaching new heights. BMUN is not only the realization of a dream from a small group of friends, but an evolved event that has outgrown its expectations past anything ever imaginable.
